Bethesda Home Health was founded in 2002 to employ carefully selected, competent, caring individuals to assist older adults and the disabled. We provide personal care and skilled nursing services up to 24 hours a day in our client’s homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals throughout Central Texas.

Our care team consists of Caregivers, CNAs, RNs, LVNs, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Medical Social Workers and more. We work closely with our patient's state caseworkers and physicians to ensure that the patient's care plan is implemented accurately and successfully.

Family Caregiver Tips! Get Help!

Being a family caregiver is a tough job. Don't get burned out. We need you! Here are a few tips to help you fight the burn!

 

10 Helpful Tips:

1. Caregiving is a tough job and respite is your earned right. Talk to someone, let us know when you need a break.

2. When people offer to help, accept the offer and suggest specific things that they can do.

3. Educate yourself about your family member's health condition.

4. There’s a difference between caring and doing. Be open to new ideas that promote your family member's independence.

5. Trust your instincts. Most of the time they’ll lead you in the right direction. Contact your healthcare provider when something isn't right.

6. Caregivers often do a lot of lifting, pushing, and pulling. Use all safety guidelines when lifting.

7. Grieve for your losses, let go and let God.

8. Be aware of signs of depression, and get professional help quickly.

9. Seek support from others. There is comfort in knowing you are not alone.

10. Stand up for your rights. Know your rights as a caregiver or patient!
